The search for transfigured emotion on canvas or paper – a note that may seem like a footnote to any figurative pictorial representation but is a true star map for an artist. I chose to render the halves of the model’s personal experiences, with grave and sharp accents, portraying the indefinable equinox state of the heart. Half day, half total darkness. One side looking for the other in a continuous almost destructive but complementary run.
